Rune ProjectAnimation-first rendering for scripted stories

Rune Engine is the 2D rendering foundation. Rune Story turns it into a source-controlled workflow for authoring, previewing, presenting, and exporting motion-driven content.

Product hierarchy

One project, two product layers, clear reader paths

Rune Project is the umbrella. Rune Engine is the rendering foundation. Rune Story is the scripted authoring and playback product built on top of it.

Learn and reference

Follow one learning path from installation through examples, then switch to generated reference and Specs when you need precise contracts.

Built for motion

Author once, inspect any time, render anywhere in the workflow

Animation at frame time

Rune Engine resolves analytical motion on the render thread, keeping animation seekable without rebuilding the authored scene on every frame.

One playback model

Rune Story bakes once and uses the same seek-and-render core for preview, still frames, cue navigation, live presentation, and video export.

Current beta boundary

The public beta targets Windows x64 and Windows ARM64, uses .NET 10, and centers the Story schema on v1beta1.

Rune Project brings Rune Story authoring together with the Rune Engine rendering foundation.
